Wednesday May 26 Day 85

Wednesday May 26 Day 85

Only 5 days before I leave the mountains.

I am on top of the world!! I increased my sleep quotient by 50%. I slept until 4 am and got 6 hours of sleep instead of yesterday’s 4. It is amazing how a little extra sleep will improve your mind.

I am though logging my shots for the project. I only have 1,378 different segments in the can (as they say in the old movie business) or on my master tapes. My next step is getting them through security at the airport without putting them through the X-ray machines. Just the slightest variance in the settings of the X-ray equipment can ruin the video tape. There was an Indian producer of television documentaries here at Kilmarnock and he said that security can do what they call a “hand check” of critical video tapes. The greatest problem is have the security operator accept my request for a hand check. Some of the will and some of them won't. Then I have to go up the line to a supervisor. For this reason I am planing on getting to the airport 3 hours early. This problem is a major contributor to my not sleeping well.

I think I have solved the problem of organizing my memories. The only problem is that the electrify has been off since 9 am and it is now 2 pm. I have used up all my battery power in my laptop and need to charge it up before I can test my thoughts.

  1. Hi Leon, I sat next to you on the plane to Delhi way back in March. (And I did manage to get my misplaced luggage a couple of days later...)Your comment about the hand check for the film makes me think of all MY film. Remember? I had a whole suitcase full. Anyway, between coming and going, it got xrayed 3 times. It has the marks to prove it. Good luck getting YOURS home safely. And getting YOU home safely! I am planning a return trip in November. I have enjoyed looking at your blog!

About Me

My photo
I have twin sons with 2 children each. I will miss them when in India. I have been a job gypsy all my life looking for new challenges constantly. I got bored quickly except when teaching. 3 years as a Middle School Music Teacher and 9 years as an Assistant Professor of Music. I played in a Country Western Band when I went back to college at 39 to get a degree in Accounting. I was a CPA that worked in various companies, the longest for 5 years and the shortest for 2 days. I spent most of my accounting life working as a Project Accountant where I would come in to solve a particular problem. I was rarely required to do a lot of the boring stuff for very long. With the passing of my wife and NO job to go to, I can now pursue my dreams in India.
